Autumn Term 2 - November - December
Autumn Term 2
November - December
|We have started this term with BANG 🎆🎇 leaning all about Bonfire night. We have counted sets of sparkles, ordered number rockets, printed firework pictures, collaged rockets and explored movement in our PE session.
|We have also talked about Remembrance Sunday today. We shared how the Poppy is a sign of remembering and watched a short video about this. Use the link below if you wish to watch this again at home.
|This week in nursery we have been learning about the festival of Diwali. The children have enjoyed making Diva lamps and printed some beautiful rangoli patterns.
Use the link below to find our more about this festival. 🪔 🎆
|This week the children have really enjoyed lots of activities linked to the story The Gruffalo. They have created story maps, painted pictures of the Gruffalo, explored woodland scenes and animals, retold the story using props and enjoyed a Gruffalo tea party. The children have also used their creative skills to help create a wonderful display.
The Gruffalo website has some lovely activity ideas relating to The Gruffalo and the other fantastic stories from the author Julia Donaldson.
The short film of The Gruffalo is also available on the BBC iPlayer.
We're Going on a Bear Hunt
|Our focus story this week has been We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. The children have loved this story and have been able to retell it using their own words and actions. We have also been busy using natural objects to create bears, touch counting sets of bears, mark making and practicing our cutting skills to make split pin bears. 🐻🤩
