Where does your breakfast cereal come from?
This term we are learning all about farms. We will be looking at different materials, learning about the different properties of materials, how materials can be changed and manipulated and we will be observing the changes of the seasons. We will be finding out about farming in the past and comparing it to farming now. We will be visiting a farm and learning about how crops grow and where they grow best. We will be writing and reading instructions to make bread and pizza (and even eating them!) and on top of this we have lost the cheeky scarecrow so it is our mission to find it!
Homework challenge: Can you complete one of these challenges at home and bring into school to show your class teacher.
|Design a scarecrow for a vegetable patch.||Design and make a container to protect the little hens eggs.|
|Find out which materials are waterproof. Write a list.||Make cakes with a grown up. Write the recipe for someone to follow|
|Read the story of the Little Red Hen. What was your favourite part?||Ask your family their favourite farm animal. Make a graph to show the most popular animal.|
