The Very Hungry Caterpillar

*Read or listen to the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

*Encourage your child to make marks on a piece of paper about the story - remember these marks may look like scribbles to grown ups but they will have meaning to your child. Encourage you child to hold their pen or pencil using their "pinchy fingers".

*Create a symmetrical picture, fold a piece of paper in half and paint on one side, fold the paper back over to make an identical print. Once dry you could cut your painting into a butterfly shape.

*Taste different fruits from the story, encourage your child to describe the fruits and how they taste.
