Spring Term 3
January - February
We hope you all had a lovely Christmas, it has been lovely to see all the children return to Cubs. We would like to welcome our new children and their families who are joining us this term.
This week the weather has been very cold and the children have enjoyed learning about winter. We have been practising putting on our coats, hats and scarves to help keep us warm outside. We experimented with cold colours to make out wintery pictures and printed some hats and scarves.
This week we have enjoyed listening to the story 'Dinosaur Roar!' We had lots of fun playing in our dinosaur den and the children are really proud of their dinosaur display.
The children have been very creative this week, we made beautiful butterflies for the nursery windows, we used our finger to print and count the spots on the ladybirds. The children got messy cutting up the spaghetti worms with the scissors and We really enjoyed listening to the story 'What the ladybird heard'.
This week the children have been learning which animals live on the farm. We have been using Makaton signs to sign the different animals and enjoyed making the different sounds they all make.
This has been a busy week in Cubs, we have celebrated pancake day, making pancakes with the playdough and getting messy with the flour. We all ate some tasty pancakes for snack.
Chinese New Year
This week in Cubs we celebrated Chinese New Year, the year of the dog. We made a Chinese dragon and enjoyed dancing with it as we listened to some lovely Chinese music. We all tried and enjoyed some noodles for snack.
