THE READING ROCKET CHALLENGE
Children who read at home regularly do better in school and enjoy reading far more that those who don’t.
We want to encourage all of our children and their families to read for enjoyment.
This term you will have the opportunity to take part in a reading challenge -READING ROCKETS!
Every child will get a special rocket bookmark with 5 stars - one for each of the first 5 weeks of next term.
If the children read at home three or more times a week they will get a sticker to put on each star.
The children with all of their stickers at the end of the five weeks will receive a special reading prize!
What do you need to do?
Read at home with your child at least 3 times a week.
Write in their reading diary book what you have read and the date.
Bring red book bags and reading books to school every day.
Check at home for lost books / book bags.
On the first Monday back, Miss Latchford will have a special reading assembly.
On Friday 9th June it is ‘Bring your Favourite Book Day!’
Join in with the READING ROCKET challenge, help your child enjoy reading and have fun!
